Grosz Grabs Podium Finish at Jackson’s Grand Opening

JACKSON, MN (May 25) – Friday night the Lee Grosz Racing team hit the road en route to the all-new Jackson Motorplex for a date withGoMuddy.com NSL 360’s.

Lee began the night with a front row starting spot for his eight lap heat. As the green waved, Lee would take the lead from the outside and never look back as he cruised to the win over Bill Boles and Derrik Lusk.

The redraw put the Hi-10 Sports #4J sixth on the 22-car starting grid. With a 25-lap feature in front of him, Grosz had plenty of time to move to the front, but he threw caution to the wind right at the get go. Lee made a bold three wide pass in turn one to move up to fourth and then completed a power move at the exit of turn two to grab third down the back straightaway.

Grosz then set his sights on second-place running Chris Martin, who had a 5 car length advantage on him. With one lap Lee found himself right on the tail tank of the Ankeny, IA driver and dove to the inside of him in turns one and two. Martin was able to hold him off down the back stretch with his momentum, but Lee came charging right back in turn three. Once again Lee ducked to the inside, but this time slid up and completed a beautiful slide job to claim the spot.

With seven circuits remaining, the caution came out which gave Lee new life on leader Casey Friedrichsen. On the restart, Grosz put his machine up on the cushion as he tried to move by Friedrichsen, but that left the door open down low for Skylar Prochaska. The Lakefield, MN stole the second spot in the closing laps, which forced Grosz to settle for third at the checkers.

Following Friday night’s event, the team took the remainder of the weekend off. This weekend will also be a quiet one for the Lee Grosz Racing team due to the unfavorable forecast, but they will be gearing up for a triple header the following weekend starting Thursday, June 2nd.
