Grosz Grabs Podium Finish at North Central Speedway
BRAINERD, MN (June 22) – As luck would have it, Lee and the HI-10 Sports team made the haul to Jackson Motorplex Friday afternoon for a night of 360 Sprint Car racing just to have the skies open up and wash out the night for the second week in a row. The weekend wasn’t a total loss, however, as the crew loaded up and raced at North Central Speedway in Brainerd, MN with the UMSS 360 Sprints.
Lee rolled off fifth in his heat race and cruised through the field to take the checkers in second. From there he would take the green flag in fourth for the challenge race, which set the lineup for the feature event, and Lee marched towards the front once again. This time he finished one spot better than he did in the heat and took the win.
A redraw of four inverted the first two rows of the A-main lineup and put the #4J J&J Chassis outside the second row. Lee jumped into the third position right as the green flag dropped, but his charge would be stalled early as track conditions did not favor a whole lot of passing.
“They farmed the top of the track before the features so it was pretty one-lane around the top,” said Lee. “We had a pretty good car and needed lapped traffic, but that didn’t play out in our favor.”
Lee crossed the line in third at the completion of the 25-lap event.
“We figured a few more things out with the car and picked up another top three so all in all it was a good night.”
Up next for Lee Grosz Racing will be a date at Park Jefferson Speedway in Sioux City, Iowa next Saturday night. The race is a co-sanctioned event between the Nebraska 360 Sprints and the MSTS 360 Sprints with a 7pm start time.
