Mell Builds Momentum Heading into Jackson/Badlands Double Header

HARWOOD, ND (June 13) – Last Saturday night the Trevor Mell Racing team made their weekly voyage down to Badlands Motor Speedway where they braved a heat index that pushed 100 degrees.

A fifth place finish in heat race number two put the Racing for Dash/JR Construction #1AJ outside the front row for the 15-lap main event. Mell ran inside the top three for the first five laps, but fell outside the top five at the halfway point.

“I should have stayed on the bottom,” said Trevor. “There was nothing to get ahold of in the middle or top of the track. Once I got passed by Robby Wolfgang, I tried different lines to catch him but looking back, the bottom was the place to be.”

As the checkers waved on the feature event, Mell still scored a top-ten finish as he crossed the line in ninth.

“I was able to get more laps under my belt and every time I hit the track I feel more comfortable in the car. I’ve got to thank my crew, who worked their butts off in the 100 degree heat as well as my dad, Rob, and Chase for their hard work and my mom for her dedication.”

Next weekend Trevor will take on Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, MN Friday night. Trevor put on a solid showing the last time he took on the newly renovated half-mile oval on May 20th, but didn’t get the finish he was looking for.

Coming off a string of good finishes since then, Trevor and the team hopes to keep that ball rolling Friday night and into Saturday at Badlands Motor Speedway.
