Mell Scores Another Top 5 Finish at Badlands

BRANDON, SD (July 12) – Saturday morning Trevor and the JR Construction / #DashNation team made their weekly trek to Badlands Motor Speedway for a night of 305 Sprint Car racing.

Mell started outside of the front row for his heat and use the high side to grab the lead on the opening lap. Colin Smith stole the point on lap two, moving Mell back to second which is where he would take the checkers.

“[Smith] had the faster car for sure,” said Trevor. “I did everything I could to hold him off, but I was told it was a good race between us.”

Trevor then started outside row two for the 15-lap main event. After settling into the third spot, Mell ran into a little bit of trouble.

“I hit the wall coming out of turn four. I had to slow up to make sure my right rear tire wasn’t flat, but I still ended up fifth.”

All things considered, Trevor says it was a positive night.

“The car felt good overall. I tried some new stuff set up wise and it worked so we’re headed in the right direction. I’ve got to thank Chase, Rob, and Austin for their help in the pits.”

After a night at Badlands next Saturday, Trevor will complete with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) 410 Sprints Sunday evening at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo. Being just seven miles from Harwood, this is the closest to home the Performance Auto of Fargo / Panther Graphics: Print & Media Solutions team will race all year so come on out and cheer on the #1AJ.

Admission into the races is free after purchasing a $10 fair pass.
