Heat Win Highlights Mack’s Night at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, ND (August 17) – Racing continued last Friday night at River Cities Speedway and the FM Truck Sales/Joe Black’s Bar & Grill #92 of Mitch Mack was ready to rock at the Bullring.

Mitch began the night starting outside of the front row for heat race number one. For the first couple laps, Mitch rode behind the #26 of
Blake Egeland, but made the pass for the lead on lap three. Once out front, Mitch never looked back as he cruised to the win and turned in
the quickest lap time of the event with a 11.616, averaging 92.975mph.

“We tried a few different things with our 360 motor and it seemed to work a bit. The car was fast in the heat race and felt pretty good,”
said Mitch.

The heat win put the Jeff’s Repair machine on the front row of the 25-lap Buffalo Wild Wings main event with Ty Hanten to his outside.

“At the get go I was trying to get around [Hanten] and let Wade [Nygaard] get by. A lap later I was able to get around Hanten and was
chasing down Wade. I was catching him pretty good when we got into lapped traffic, but drove it too hard going into turn three and smacked the wall coming out of turn four. That broke the center hub out of the rim so we were done for the night.”

Mack was credited with an 18th place finish.

As of late Mitch has had a few tough finishes, which doesn’t necessarily reflect the overall performance of the team.

“It’s just been tough with that little motor,” said Mitch referring to the 360 motor he’s been running while his 410c.i. Mopar engine gets
repaired. “Once we get the 410 back it shouldn’t be an issue. We should be getting it back next week or the following week.”
