Mack Flexes Muscle at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, ND (August 4) – Last Friday night Mitch Mack and the Johnston Concrete/Dahlstrom Motors team was back in action at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

Mitch began the night by picking up the win in heat race number three. Mitch drove from third to the lead on lap one and took the victory by over 2.5 seconds. After a tough stretch of races over the past few weeks, the heat win built up some momentum heading into the main event.
The Joe Black’s #92 machine rolled off fourth in the field of 23 for the 25-lap feature. Mitch slipped back to seventh early, but battled back into the top five on lap eight by passing Jordan Graham and Mark Dobmeier.

For the next several circuits around the high-banked three-tenths mile oval Mitch raced with fellow East Grand Forks, MN driver Nick Omdahl, as well as Dobmeier, and Wade Nygaard.

On lap 18 Mitch was running solidly in the fifth position when Trent Stengl got upside-down in turn four right in front of him. Mitch had nowhere to go and parked his car right up against the water barrels lining the outside of the track. Track officials considered Mitch to be a part of the incident, which put him to the tail of the field for the ensuing restart.

Mitch was credited with a disappointing 20th place finish, but showed plenty of speed all night long.

Up next for Mitch Mack Motorsports will be another Friday night date at the Bullring; River Cities Speedway!
