Adams Looks to Close Out 2016 With Solid Finish this Friday Night!
REYNOLDS, ND (September 15) – This Friday night at River Cities Speedway the 2016 season will come to an end for the Jordan Adams Racing team. Despite it being the final night of competition, Jordan is still focused on the task at hand.
“Friday is just another night even though it is the last night,” he said. “We will keep the same mentality as every other night. When we unload at a race track, we want to win night in and night out. Hopefully we close the season on a positive note.”
Jordan will enter the season finale coming off a pair of 11th place finishes last weekend at River Cities. Last Thursday night the Home of Economy/WinField machine was in action on what ended up being a marathon of an event.
“Thursday night was a long night,” continued Jordan. “We unloaded at 4pm in the pits and with the rain delays didn’t hit the track until 10 or 10:30. In the heat race we moved up one spot which was basically no lifting.”
The track was so fast on Thursday night, the Late Model track record was broken during heat race competition. Jordan finished fourth in his heat race and turned a lap of 10.227, averaging 105.603mph. The Tony Anderson Construction/Dekalb No. 20A started the 25-lap feature from the 13th position.
“The feature was okay. Usually those tracks are the ones we excel on. However, I had a foggy visor that didn’t leave me with much room to see out of. With pulling a tear off every other lap and not being able to see much out of the visor, you could say that was a challenge in itself.”
Friday night saw the same result at the bullring, but Jordan took a different route to get there.
Adams was one of the eight Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Back Row Challenge qualifiers, but the team opted to keep their position at the front of the field in hopes of taking home the $2,500 winner’s check.
“Friday night was a pretty slick track top to bottom. The cushion was a little rough in places and it was way up the race track. With track conditions, we decided not to take the back row challenge and start third in the feature. When it was all said and done, we had fallen back to 11th on three bad shocks.”
