Mitch Mack Races to Top 10 at River Cities With 360 Motor

GRAND FORKS, ND (September 14) – After the Mitch Mack Motorsports team endured more engine troubles two weeks ago at River Cities Speedway, they strapped their trusty 360c.i. motor back in the GF1 chassis and went racing last weekend.

The racing weekend kicked off Thursday evening at River Cities Speedway for the “Prelude to the Johnny.” Mitch began the night racing his way to a third place finish in heat number two from the seventh starting position.

That placed the FM Truck Sales/Jeff’s Repair #92 fifth on the starting grid for the 25-lap main event. With a super saturated racing surface due to the near six inches of rain that fell in Grand Forks in the few days prior, the high-banked bullring was blazing fast and becoming increasingly rough.

Mitch got up on the wheel when the green flag flew, but still played it safe as cars around him banged their way through the holes and ruts. When the checkers flew, Mitch crossed the line in 12th, but more importantly he was able to roll the car back into the trailer and get ready for Friday night’s big show.

Friday night’s track was a complete 180 compared to Thursday’s surface. The three-tenths mile oval was smooth and slick and made for good racing. The night got off to a great start for Mitch as he cruised to the heat race win after starting in seventh.

From there Mitch raced to a 10th place finish on a track began taking rubber in the early going.

The 2016 season for the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) Sprints will conclude next Friday night at River Cities Speedway. After an up and down year, Mitch and the crew will be gunning to end the season on a high note! Racing starts at 7pm in Grand Forks.
