Nygaard Extends NOSA Points Leading Heading into Seitz Memorial

GRAND FORKS, ND (September 7, 2016) – Coming into last weekend’s four-race swing,
Wade Nygaard held a slim two point lead over Casey Mack in the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) points standings. However, consistent finishes in and around the top five all weekend long built that points lead back up to 17 heading into the biggest race of the year at the John Seitz Memorial; the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Back Row Challenge.

Wade looks forward to the John Seitz Memorial each and every year for several reasons. “It’s always a special race because John was a good race track buddy and friend,” he said. “Plus it seems we usually do pretty well during that race and I hope we can keep that going.”
Despite a solid sixth place finish Friday at River Cities Speedway, Wade wasn’t too thrilled with his performance.

“The track as awesome and the guy that sets up the car sometimes is an idiot. That’s me,” he said with a laugh. “I just guessed wrong. I thought the track was going to stay heavy, but when I rolled out there I was like ‘Oh, crap. [The moisture] all blew off.’ and we had to deal with a really loose race car. Nobody to be mad at but myself.”

On Saturday night at Greenbush, Nygaard came away with a fourth place finish in the feature, but the race came down to tire management. The racing surface began taking rubber almost immediately after the green flag waved, which made passing extremely difficult. Wade still maneuvered by a handful of cars throughout the 25-lapper as he drove from ninth to score his 19th top five of the season.

Sunday night at Buffalo River Race Park saw much of the same. After picking up the heat race win, Wade started fourth on the 21-car starting grid. Wade managed to bring the Auto Finance Super Center Fargo machine home in a podium position as he finished third on the bottom dominant racing surface.
Monday’s event scheduled at River Cities Speedway was rained out.
