Star-Studded Lineup Sets Stage for #SSMT17
TAMPA, FL (February 2, 2017) – Race fans, get ready for eight big nights of sunshine and slidejobs! It’s the Sunshine State Modified Tour (SSMT) and it’s roaring into North Florida Speedway this Friday, February 3rd.
After catching the national spotlight for phenomenal car counts and upset victories in its inaugural running, the tour is charging full speed ahead into its second season.
Things kick off with three consecutive nights of racing at North Florida Speedway in Lake City, FL before the tour heads 175 miles south to the legendary East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. After a practice night on Tuesday, February 7, race teams will gear up for four straight nights of action, culminating with the 75-lap, $5,000-to-win main event on Saturday, February 11.
The 2017 Sunshine State Modified Tour points champion will be announced following Saturday night’s A-main at East Bay.
On Sunday, February 12 the tour will head north and come to a close with a Sunday matinée at North Florida Speedway. With no points being awarded, bragging rights and a $2,000 dollar payday will be on the line at the semi-banked three-eighths mile oval.
