Midco Sports Network to Broadcast LIVE from River Cities Speedway on Cable TV!

GRAND FORKS, ND (April 7, 2017) – River Cities Speedway (RCS) and Midco Sports Network are proud to announce they have teamed up to put on a live cable television broadcast from the legendary quarter-mile bullring on Friday, June 23rd.

Midco Sports Network is the leader for high school and collegiate sports coverage in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, as well as motorsports coverage with their weekly Midco Motorsports program. However, they are taking things a step further in 2017 with a first-of-its-kind live broadcast from River Cities Speedway, which will feature the NOSA 410 Sprint Cars and the NLRA Late Models.

“Midco Sports Network is excited to televise live local racing from River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. This will be a fun addition to our Midco Motorsports weekly show and brings live racing to fans across our region,” said Mark Powell, Vice President of Midco Sports Network.

“Having Midco come in and broadcast from River Cities is great,” added the winningest Sprint Car driver in RCS history, Mark Dobmeier. “We have an excellent show here each week with great car counts and a high level of competition so it’s going to be great to be able to share that with everybody a little too far away to make it here on a regular night.”

From North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, race fans all across the upper Midwest will be able to tune in to some of the best dirt track racing in the country, provided by an Emmy-award winning production crew.

“Any extra media or attention is great for the sport as a whole. There might be some people out there that haven’t been to the races in a while, but if they’re sitting at home and see it on TV, they’ll probably tune in and hopefully they’ll want to come out to the races in person the next week.” continued Dobmeier.

The commentators for the broadcast bring in a lot of experience themselves as long-time race fan and host Brian Shawn, will be joined by color analyst and three-time NOSA Sprint Car champion, Chris Shirek. The event, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, on June 23rd is a part of the Greater Grand Forks Fair, which means admission into the races is just $5.
