Mitch Mack Scores Top 10 at River Cities in 2017 Season Debut!

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 9, 2017) – After a long, cold winter Mitch Mack Motorsports was back at River Cities Speedway Friday night for the 2017 season opener. With a brand new season before them, the team was optimistic to get the year started off on the right foot at their home track.

The night began on a strong note as Mitch led the first six laps of heat race two, before finishing in the second position.

“I felt like things went pretty good in the heat race,” said Mitch. “We are still waiting to get our 410 motor. It’s in Ohio and it’s ready to go, but we were just running our 360 on Friday. All you can really do with that thing is hold it to the floor and keep your momentum up.”

From there, Mitch led the 20-car field of Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints to the green flag from the pole position. At the completion of the 25-lap feature, Mitch held on to finish in the seventh position, recording his first top 10 of the season.

“All in all we were actually pretty pleased,” said Mitch. “The car we ran was one we had fixed up. We had to put a new front clip on it. It had been sitting over in the corner for a couple of years so I was kind of nervous about how it was going to handle. We threw a basic setup at it and it was pretty good all night long.

“In the feature the car was pretty good I thought,” continued Mitch. “For awhile there we were running the top three. I was getting into lapped traffic and was keeping up with Wade [who was in second]. But it seemed like every restart I’d get passed by at least one guy.”

The Joe Black’s/FM Truck Sales No. 92 team will be back in action on Friday night at River Cities Speedway.
