Adams Finds Victory Lane at Jamestown Speedway!

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (June 12, 2017) – Jordan Adams returned to victory lane Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway. Adams topped the field of 24 Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Cars to record his second career victory.

After finishing second in his heat race, Adams started on the pole for the 25-lap A-main.

At the drop of the green flag, Wade Nygaard got by Adams and took the lead, but a caution on the opening lap led to a complete restart.

Adams wouldn’t let that happen twice.

On the ensuing restart, Adams got a great launch off of turn four and took a commanding lead. Adams led the first half of the race uncontested until he reached lapped traffic. That allowed Nygaard and Austin Pierce to close in.

Nygaard reeled in Adams to within a half car length at one point, but he would never get any closer.

Tire conservation played a factor in the later stages as the track was taking rubber for the majority of the event.

On the final lap, Pierce was within striking distance of Adams, but he had a right rear tire explode, which allowed Adams to charge to the checkered flag free of pressure.

“The track took rubber, so you just had to be mistake free,” Adams said. “At the end there my brakes went out, and I thought we had lost the race. The last five laps were pretty intense, I was praying my (right-rear tire) was going to hang on. I didn’t know how much was left of it.”

The win marks Adams’ first triumph since 2014 at Greenbush Race Park.

“This is what we do it for,” said Adams in victory lane. “This feels amazing. We had a rough start to the year, but I’ve got a great crew and great partners behind me.”

Adams was also in action Friday night at River Cities Speedway. After recording a third place finish in his heat, Adams was slated to start on the pole for the 25-lap event. However, a tornado warning forced the postponement of the feature. It is rescheduled to run on June 23rd.
