Jordan Adams Claims Second Career Victory at Jamestown Speedway

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (June 12, 2017) – The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Cars returned to Jamestown Speedway for the first time in three years on Saturday night. A packed grandstands witnessed one of the series’ young up-and-comers, Jordan Adams, pick up the win.

“This is what we do it for,” said Adams in victory lane. “This feels amazing. We had a rough start to the year, but I’ve got a great crew and great partners behind me.”

Wade Nygaard grabbed the lead on the initial start of the RM Stout/MidMach feature, but a spin in turn one forced a complete restart.

Adams jumped out to the lead on the opening lap and held the top spot with relative ease until he encountered lapped traffic at the halfway point. That allowed Nygaard and Austin Pierce to close in on Adams, but the 21-year-old Reynolds driver made key moves to regain a sizeable advantage.

With five laps to go, Nygaard made an aggressive move around the outside of a lapped car, but lost positions to Pierce and Bob Martin once he got out of the rubber and fell back to fourth.

Pierce set his sights on Adams as Nygaard found a way back by Martin a few circuits later.

Adams’ lap time got quicker as the race endured. Pierce was within striking distance on the final lap, but exiting turn four his right rear tire blew, which allowed Nygaard to claim the runner-up spot.

All of this happened behind Adams, who went on to claim his second career NOSA victory and first since Greenbush Race Park in 2014.

“Restarts were really important and I don’t know if I did a good job on them or not, but that was the main point that I was trying to focus on,” said Adams.

Adams’ right rear tire had little tread left after the race due to rubber that was laid down on the track.
“I was just praying [my tires] would hold on for me,” said Adams with a sigh of relieve after the race.
