(June 6, 2017) – The NLSA Lightning Sprints were back in action with two complete events last weekend at Greenbush Race Park and Buffalo River Race Park.

The weekend started Saturday in Greenbush, where Presley Truedson picked up the feature win. The Kennedy, Minn. driver started outside of the front row before grabbing the early lead. Truedson held off a charge from Brandon Johnson in the first portion of the race and went on to lead all 15 laps.

Truedson was chased to the checkers by Johnson, Dexter Dvergsten, Kevin Thomas Sr., and Kesli Pederson.

Johnson, Dvergsten, and Pederson were heat race winners.

On Sunday, the series headed south to Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn.

Alabama’s Kevin Thomas Sr. picked up his second win of the season at the semi-banked quarter-mile dirt oval. Thomas Sr. led all 20 circuits after starting outside of the front row. Behind him, Truedson moved into second on the opening lap after starting fourth, and rode behind Thomas Sr. for the duration of the main event.

At the checkers, Brendan Mullen, Josh Abrahamson, and Mark Williams rounded out the top five.

Brendan Mullen picked up his first career heat race win.
