TRUSCINSKI TOPS FIELD AT BRRP

Alan Truscinski claimed the NLSA lightning sprint feature win Saturday at Buffalo River Race Park. The track was holding its annual Fan Appreciation night, which brought in over 6,500 race fans.

When the green flag waved on the NLSA feature, Brendan Mullen jumped out to the early lead in his Auto Finance Super Center No. 11M.

A caution flag slowed the race with four laps in the books. On the ensuing restart, Kevin Thomas Sr. looked to take the point away from Mullen, but Mullen fended off the charge from Thomas Sr., who picked up the season opener win at BRRP.

With 15 to go, Thomas Sr. found a way around Mullen for the lead, but just as he did the caution was displayed once again.

After early race leader, Brendan Mullen, had a catastrophic engine failure, Alabama’s Kevin Thomas, Sr. took the lead. Thomas, Sr. was surpassed by Truscinski on lap 12 before checking out from the field and taking the win.

Mullen held the lead on the restart, but just two laps later the engine expired on his machine, ending his night.

That handed the lead over to Alan Trusinski, who went on to hold off Josh Abrahamson and Dexter Dvergsten for the win.
