DVERGSTEN & ABRAHAMSON RECORD NLSA WINS
July 10, 2017 – The NLSA Lightning Sprints were back in action last weekend at Greenbush Race Park on Saturday and Buffalo River Race Park on Sunday.
On Saturday, Dexter Dvergsten grabbed the early lead of the main event before a caution would fly on lap two. On the ensuing restart, Brandon Johnson powered by Presely Truedson and Dvergsten to take point.
Dvergsten and Truedson then engaged in a battle for second as Johnson checked out from the field. Truedson would win the battle for the runner-up spot, while Johnson cruised to his third consecutive win.
On Sunday, Josh Abrahamson claimed his first career NLSA lightning sprint feature win after holding off a pair of up-and-coming female drivers in the final laps.
Abrahamson took the lead on the opening laps with a pass on Brody Hutton down the backstretch. The Moorhead driver then ran relatively unchallenged until Presley Truedson and Kesli Pederson reeled him in while in lapped traffic with five to go.
