Jordan Adams’ Top Five at River Cities Highlights Weekend

REYNOLDS, N.D. (July 5, 2017) – As the calendar flipped from June to July over the weekend, the Jordan Adams Racing team was hard at work with two Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car events on their schedule.

First up was their weekly visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Coming off a sixth place finish last week at The Bullring, the Home of Economy / Amity Technology team was poised for a top five finish.

And that’s what they got.

“We finally cracked into the top five and finished fourth [at River Cities],” said Jordan. “We won the heat race so that helped us get a decent position starting in the feature. We ran third for a while, but unfortunately halfway through the race our left front shock mount broke clean off the car making it pretty ill-handling.”

In the closing laps, Adams fought with Thomas Kennedy and Austin Pierce for position in the top five before taking the checkers in the fourth spot.

“We were pretty happy with fourth place considering the circumstances,” Adams said.

On Saturday, the team loaded up and drove 90 miles northeast to Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn.; the site of Jordan’s first career NOSA win.

Just as he did the night before, Jordan raced to a heat race win over Wade Nygaard and Austin Pierce.

“Saturday we won the heat race and I got back to my usual drawing skills and pulled an 8 for the invert which hurt us,” he said.

After starting sixth on the grid, Jordan just couldn’t get a handle on the high-banked quarter-mile oval.

“In the feature we just couldn’t get going,” he said. “We spun our tires the whole race and ended up finishing 11th. It was a disappointing end to a potentially strong weekend.”
