Mullen Dominates for Greenbush Win

GREENBUSH, Minn. (July 19, 2017) – The NLSA Lightning Sprints were back in action Saturday night at Greenbush Race Park, where a stout field of 20 race teams were checked in.

Heat race wins went to Brendan Mullen, Alex Truscinski, Brandon Johnson, and Presley Truscinski.

Mullen and Dexter Dvergsten led the field to the green flag for the 15-lap main event, with Mullen grabbing the early lead. Dvergsten slid back to second and rode in that position until Greenbush’s Alan Truscinski grabbed the runner-up spot on lap three.

Truscinski set his sights on the young Grand Forks, North Dakota driver, while three-time winner at Greenbush, Brandon Johnson, cracked the top five.

Mullen’s Auto Finance Super Center machine was flying around the high-banked quarter-mile dirt oval as he went on to hold off Truscinski, who was fresh off back-to-back wins at Wishek’s Tri-County Speedway.

Mullen’s win marked his second of the 2017 season and first at Greenbush Race Park.

The NLSA Lightning Sprints will have two races on the schedule this coming weekend with Greenbush Race Park on Saturday and Buffalo River Race Park on Sunday.
