Brad Seng Gears Up for Five-Race Weekend!

By Mike Spieker

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 2, 2017) – This week, Brad Seng’s racing weekend begin tonight as the NLRA Late Models get set for their busiest stretch of the 2017 season. Their mini tour begins tomorrow night at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, where Brad raced to two runner-up finishes in 2016. On Thursday, the series heads 50 miles northwest to Ada, Minnesota’s Norman County Raceway. In the two appearances at NCR last year, Brad picked up a feature win, followed by a third place finish at the high-banked three-eighths mile oval.

On Friday, the NLRA Late Models will have the evening off, but the drivers won’t. Weekly Late Model racing will continue on Friday at both River Cities Speedway, where Brad will be competing, and I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn.

The tour cranks back up on Saturday at Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, N.D., before making their first appearance to Sheyenne River Speedway in 11 years.

While it’s been over a decade since Brad has ran at the Lisbon, N.D. quarter-mile, he is no stranger to victory lane. Brad has reeled in three victories at Sheyenne River Speedway, coming in 2000, 2001 and 2003.

With four NLRA events this weekend, Brad will be looking to close in on Ricky Weiss and Dustin Strand, who are tied atop the point standings. Seng currently sits fourth in points, 56 points behind the lead duo.

WEEKEND RECAP:

Last weekend, Brad was in action with the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series at I-94 Speedway on Thursday night for their annual King of the Dirt special. With a stout field of 28 cars on hand, Brad began the night by racing from fifth to third in his heat. Brad started the 30-lap feature in the fifth position. At the checkers, Brad finished in the sixth spot, marking his 14th top 10 finish in 16 starts.

On Friday, the S&S Transport / MB Customs No. 12S team unloaded a River Cities Speedway. After finishing second in the heat, Brad started the 25-lap Performance Auto feature in seventh. It was a caution-filled feature, which even saw a red flag for a roll-over in turn four, but when it was all said and done, Brad battled his way forward to finish fifth.
