GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 16, 2017) – Last weekend, the Nygaard Motorsports crew wrapped up a 10-day stretch at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World,” Knoxville Raceway. The team began by competing in the 360 Knoxville Nationals, followed by the Capitani Classic and the 57th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals. This weekend, Wade Nygaard and the Auto Finance Super Center No. 9N will be in action at River Cities Speedway Friday night with the World of Outlaws and Saturday night at Greenbush Race Park with the NOSA Sprints.

“We learned that timing in is very important at Knoxville. We rarely do time trials anyways so we knew going in that was going to be a struggle,” said Wade. “We found ourselves having to dig out of a whole in the every night after time trials. The car ran pretty good and moved forward when it came to racing. We just had too much ground to make up, though. Every time we were on the track we learned a little bit more. Everything we learned and tried on the car always made the car better. I wish we could run there for another six days in a row. Knoxville is the trickiest place I’ve ever raced in my life. It’s fun, but it’s definitely all about getting your car right.”

It doesn’t get easier for Wade after running at Knoxville. On Friday, the World of Outlaws invade River Cities Speedway for the second and final time in 2017.

“We are pretty pumped up for Friday and are going to go out there and give it our best,” Wade continued. “Absolutely nothing that we learned in Knoxville will be useful in Grand Forks, expect for just running as hard as you can each and every lap. Hopefully we can find our groove and be fast at the short tracks like we have been.”

On Saturday, Wade will wrap up the weekend at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn., where he has 12 career victories with the NOSA Sprints; eight more than the next closest competitor.

The event, presented by Auto Finance Super Center, will also mark the second and final appearance by the NOSA Sprints at the high-banked quarter-mile clay oval. When Wade last competed at Greenbush back on July 1st, he recorded a second place finish in his heat before charging to third in the 25-lap main event.

Wade’s last win at Greenbush came back in 2010.
