Nygaard Looks to Return to Victory Lane in Final Two NOSA Events of 2017

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 14, 2017) – This weekend the Nygaard Motorsports team will compete in the final two Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car events of the season Friday at River Cities Speedway and Saturday at Devils Lake Speedway.

Wade leads all drivers with 13 career Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) wins at Devils Lake Speedway, including one earlier this year.

Enter Friday night, which will be the season finale at River Cities Speedway, Wade comes in third in the track point standings, despite missing two events throughout the year to compete elsewhere.

Last weekend, the Auto Finance Super Center No. 9N team had a pair of events lined up at River Cities Speedway as a part of the Buffalo Wild WingsBlazin’ Challenge.

“It was a rough weekend,” said Wade. “It was just really disappointing. It seemed like each time we were on the race track and racing, we were moving forward and the car felt great. On Friday night we got caught up in a crash. I got put in the wall and destroyed basically everything but the chassis. Me and the boys got up early on Saturday and got the car put back together. With the help of those guys, I was able to get Zac on the go-kart track.”

On Saturday, Wade came back to the track with some good speed as he raced to a second place finish in his heat after starting sixth. That put him 12th on the grid, but he began moving forward right at the drop of the green flag.

Wade drove through the field and cracked the top three at the halfway point of the 35-lap event.

“We got up to second a bunch of times with all those restarts. On the last restart we were third and were running down [Nick] Omdahl for second. I got into the cushion and the left rear shock bearing around the top of the shaft let go and broke the shock apart. That was the end of our night,” Wade said. “I’ve never really seen that happen ever. I think it was just the result of damage from the night before.”

Coming into Friday’s races, Wade brings in a solid track record with 12 top fives, 12 top tens, including two wins, in 16 races.
