TRUSCINSKI & JOHNSON CAP OFF SEASON AT GREENBUSH RACE PARK WITH WINS

GREENBUSH, Minn. (September 4, 2017) – The 2017 season came to an end at Greenbush Race Park with a two-night special last weekend. The NLSA Lightning Sprints were in action both nights, boasting solid car counts for each event.

The racing began on Saturday night, where 17 race teams were checked in for action.

Brendan Mullen, Alan Truscinski, and Dexter Dvergsten claimed heat race wins. Truscinski and Parker Monroe led the field to the green flag for the main event.

Even though Alan sat on the pole, it was another Truscinski who led the opening lap; Alex.
Alex drove from third to the lead on the opening lap around the high-banked quarter-mile clay oval and never looked back. The Greenbush, Minn. driver checked out from the field and took the win over his father, Alan, by exactly four seconds.

Kelsi Pederson, Dvergsten, and Presley Truedson rounded out the top five.

On night number two, 16 NLSA Lightning Sprints unloaded at Greenbush for the track’s season finale.

Alan Truscinski, Dvergsten, and Monroe started the night with heat race wins.

Come feature time, however, it looked as though Alex Truscinski was destined to sweep the weekend. Truscinski started on the pole and led the first half of the feature, until fifth place starter, Brandon Johnson, came up to challenge for the lead.

Johnson made the pass for the lead, and ultimately the win, with four laps to go to grab his sixth win of the year at Greenbush.

Alex Truscinski, Truedson, Dvergsten, and Pederson rounded out the top five.

The NLSA Lightning Sprints will be back in action Sept. 16-17 at Buffalo River Race Park for the Corn Cob Nationals.
