Truscinski Returns to Victory Lane at Buffalo River

GLYNDON, Minn. (August 30, 2017) – Alan Truscinski picked up the lone NLSA Lightning Sprint feature win of the weekend on Sunday at Buffalo River Race Park. To begin the night, heat race wins went to Eric Johnson and Presley Truedson.

As the green flag dropped on the 20 lap main event, Johnson took the early lead over pole sitter Jason Berg. Johnson immediately looked to check out from the field and run away with the win. The driver of the No. 4 opened up a big advantage over Berg and Truedson in the opening laps as the rest of the field jockeyed for position.

On lap 12, Truedson’s race came to an end, which allowed Truscinski to inherit the runner-up spot. Truscinski tried to reel in Johnson in the second half of the race, but Johnson was too quick around the semi-banked quarter mile dirt oval.

As Johnson took the white flag, he had over a three-second lead on Truscinski. Unfortunately for Johnson, his chain came off on the final lap forcing him to the infield. Truscinski capitalized to take the lead and the win for the second time this season at BRRP.

Saturday’s event at Greenbush Race Park was canceled due to rain.

The NLSA Sprints will be back in action this weekend at Greenbush on Saturday and at Buffalo River on Sunday.
