GRAND FORKS, N.D. (October 28, 2017) – The 2017 racing season has come to a close for Wade Nygaard and the Auto Finance Super Center team. The Grand Forks-based 360 and 410 Sprint Car crew competed in 43 events across seven states and six regional and national touring series this season.

Along the way, Wade racked up seven wins. Six of those wins came in Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) action. Of the six wins, three of those came consecutively in the month of July when Wade picked up wins at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

The Nygaard Motorsports team made three appearances at Cedar Lake Speedway this season with their worst finish being second.

Wade competed twice with the Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series (UMSS) and once with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints at the high-banked Wisconsin three-eighths mile oval.

“The IRA race, where we started pretty far back and got up to finish second, was a fun night. In the other two 360 races, we won one and finished second in the other. Running so well at Cedar Lake this year was definitely a highlight of our season,” said Wade.

“Being able to travel a little bit more and not worry about points this year was also a highlight,” Wade continued. “I really appreciate my sponsors and car owners for letting us do that for a change instead of chasing points. We had a lot of fun this year just going out there for the win each night.”

Despite running more races in 2017 than he had for several years, Wade isn’t ready call it a season quite yet.

“I wish it wasn’t over,” he laughed. “I don’t know how many races we got in, but I wish we had another 35 or 40 to go. It seemed like it was a pretty quick summer.”

In his final race of the season at Wagner Speedwaywith the MSTS 360s, Wade raced to a third place finish in his heat, which placed him sixth on the grid for the main event. The nine-time NOSA champion sliced his way through the field during the feature and picked up a podium finish after stealing the third position in the late going.

Despite not racing for points this year, Wade still finished fifth in the NOSA standings and third in the River Cities Speedway weekly points.

Wade and the entire crew would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support including, Auto Finance Super CenterC&M Ford Sales, IncValley Oral & Facial SurgeryGround Round Grill & Bar-Grand Forks, NDDeMer’s Stor-AllSuperior Steering Wheels, Gary Paulson Farms, Energy Release, Northland Custom Woodworking, Bosh Enterprises, Rider Racing Engines, & J&J Auto Racing!
