GLYNDON, Minn. (May 22, 2018) – Kelsi Pederson was back aboard her First Community Credit Union / Shawn Horn Realty No. 93 Lightning Sprint Sunday evening at Buffalo River Race Park.
Pederson raced from fifth to third in the heat race, which put her fourth on the starting grid for the 20-lap main event.
Pederson began moving forward right at the drop of the green flag as she moved into third. On the following circuit, she moved into second and set her sights on Josh Abrahamson for the lead.
Abrahamson set a blistering pace, but Pederson stayed within striking distance.
By the halfway point of the event, however, Abrahamson was able to open up a comfortable advantage out front as he cruised to the win. Pederson had her hands full with Mark Williams in the closing laps, but was able to hold on for the second position at the checkers.
Pederson will be back in action this weekend at Greenbush Race Park and is tentatively scheduled to be back at Buffalo River on Sunday.
Joey and Tucker were set to race Friday at River Cities Speedway, but rain washed out that event. They both will be racing this Friday at the high-banked three-tenths mile clay oval.
