MANSFIELD, Oh. (May 1, 2018) – For the first time, the Jordan Adam Racing team packed up and left town to open their season. The crew made the 15 hour haul to Mansfield, Ohio for the inaugural $100,000-to-win Sprint Car World Championship. Over 70 of the best 410 Sprint Car drivers were checked in for the two-night program.

Friday served as a preliminary night with heat races and a pair of A-mains on the schedule. A rain shower right at race time prompted a lengthy delay, but fortunately racing was able to go on as scheduled. Adams drew 99 out of 100 for time trials, meaning he would go out towards the end of qualifying.

“After messing up on both of my qualifying laps, I put us into a pretty deep hole,” said Adams. “In the heat race we ran around seventh when there was a big wreck on the front stretch. We were able to sneak by with minimal damage and continue on and held on for the fourth and final transfer spot into the A-main. It was really a confidence booster to make the feature with 73 tough cars there.”

Adams started 14th in A-main, but was forced to retire from the event early with a small mechanical issue.

On Saturday, an eighth place run in his heat put Adams 10th on the grid for the B-Main with just the top two advancing to the big show. The driver of the Home of Economy / DEKALB® No. 20A moved forward to finish in the eighth position, bringing his weekend to an end.

“Mansfield was a really good experience for me. It was the biggest track I have raced on, and I got to race with a lot of heavy hitters from out east. I definitely feel more prepared going into the opener at River Cities Speedway on May 11th. I think it is a slight advantage with our opening night behind us,” concluded Adams.
