Seng Records Three Top 10s Over Holiday Weekend

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 29, 2018) – It was a busy Memorial Day weekend for Brad Seng. The three-time NLRA Late Model champion had three events lined up beginning Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

A second place run in his heat put Seng in the fourth starting position for the 20-lap main event. Seng jumped into the runner-up spot early in the going behind race leader, Travis Robertson.

Robertson, a sophomore Late Model driver, paced the field for the first six circuits until he reached lapped traffic. As Robertson encountered his first lapped car, he made significant contact which sent him hard into the wall.

The caution was called on the lapped car Robertson tangled with, which gave the lead back to Robertson. As the race resumed, Robertson’s machine had been damaged in the incident, which forced him pitside and gave the lead to Seng.

Following another restart, Seng had his hands full with long time competitor, Joey Pederson. The two veteran drivers raced side by side for the point for several laps before Pederson cleared for the position. Pederson went on to take the win while Seng hung on for second.

On Saturday and Sunday, Seng competed with the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series at Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minn. Following a seventh place finish on night one, he was buried on the starting grid in 16th for the feature on night two.

By lap 12, Seng cracked the top 10, but he wasn’t done there. The Grand Forks driver steadily moved his way up the running order in the final 10 laps before getting by pole sitter, James Giossi, on the final lap for sixth.

This weekend, Seng will be in action Friday night at River Cities Speedway and Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway.
