EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 26, 2018) – Both Joey and Kelsi Pederson were back in action last weekend. Tucker had the weekend off.
The weekend began for Joey and Kelsi at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks for the Greater Grand Forks Fair special. Joey drove from fifth to fourth in his heat race, which put him 12th on the starting grid for the 20-lap Wissota Late Model feature.

Joey began working his way forward from the drop of the green flag. The driver of the No. 7P cracked the top 10 by lap five and reached eighth by lap 12. In the closing laps, Joey raced around Ryan Corbett and Brandon Fuller to finish in the sixth position.

Kelsi looked awfully fast in his No. 93 NLSA Lightning Sprint on Friday. She charged from fourth to win heat race number three. Kelsi started fifth for the 15-lap feature, but unfortunately her night came to an end early.

On the lap five restart, Kelsi was involved in a three car incident that triggered a red flag. Kelsi was able to keep her machine on all fours, but enough damage was suffered to force her back to the infield. All drivers involved were uninjured.

On Saturday, Joey made his first appearance of the season at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn. The night got off to a good start for Joey as he worked his way from dead last in eighth to finish second in his heat. Peterson lined up on the outside of row two for the 25-lap feature with Brad Seng to his inside. Dustin Strand set a blistering pace at the drop of the green flag, but a late race caution with five to go bunched the field back up.

Peterson moved up to third and held off defending NLRA champion, Ricky Weiss, in the final laps to record his third top five of the season.

Kesli wrapped up the weekend Sunday at Buffalo River Race Park. After racing from third to second in her heat, Pederson lined up mid-pack in the 10-car field. Running third, Kelsi took advantage of a restart to enter the fray for the lead. Kelsi moved by Presley Truedson for second and set her sights on Lawrence Veralrud for the lead. Kelsi was forced to settle for second at the checkers as she collected her sixth top five finish of the season.
