EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 12, 2018) – River Cities Speedway’s Friday night program fell to rain once again last week, which resulted in an off weekend behind the wheel for Joey Pederson. However, Kelsi and Tucker Pederson were both in action Saturday night at Greenbush Race Park.
After starting and finishing third in her heat, Kelsi rolled off fourth for the NLSA Lightning Sprint feature. Kelsi found her way around the father-son duo of Alan and Alex Truscinski to take second as she set her sights on Trent Stengl for the lead. Kelsi wasn’t able to get around Stengl and settled for second to pick up her fourth top five in five races.

A third place finish in his heat put Tucker back in the eighth starting position for the 15-lap Wissota Street Stock main event. Tucker gradually moved his way up the running order, moving into third in the late stages. Tucker found himself behind a tight battle for the lead between John Halvorson and Ryan Johnson. The sophomore Street Stock driver held on to finish third, marking his second-best finish in the Street Stock division.

Kelsi was back in action on Sunday evening at Buffalo River Race Park with the NLSA Lightning Sprints. The driver of the First Community Credit Union / Olson Underground No. 93 wheeled her way from seventh to finish second in the heat race.

From there, she lined up fifth for the 15 lap main event. Kelsi rode in fifth until the halfway point when she got by Lawrence Veralrud and Jason Berg on consecutive laps. Kelsi rode in the third position until Tim Estenson snuck by on the final lap to grab the final podium spot, relegating her back to fourth.

This weekend, Joey will return to River Cities Speedway with the NLRA Late Models as they co-headline the night with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars. Kelsi will be racing Thursday at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. and Greenbush Race Park on Saturday.
Tucker will be in action Saturday at Greenbush.
