By Spieker Promotions

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 19, 2018) – Joey Pederson made his 2018 NLRA Late Model debut Friday night at River Cities Speedway. The NLRA Late Models co-headlined the near-soldout show with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint car Series.
Twenty-one NLRA drivers were checked in for action at the high-banked three-tenths mile clay oval. Pederson began the night starting inside of the third and final row of heat race number two. Pederson moved up to fourth by the end of the eight lap event, holding off Jeffrey Massingill in the closing laps.

Pederson then rolled off 11th for the 25-lap main event. The East Grand Forks, Minn. driver fell back to 13th early on, but powered his way to ninth by lap six. Pederson’s charge to the front plateaued to ninth until 10 circuits remained.

After getting by Shane Edginton and Ryan Corbett in consecutive laps to take over seventh, Pederson looked to pick off more positions in the final stages. With two laps to go, Pederson moved around Travis Robertson to claim sixth, which is where he went on to take the checkers.

On Thursday night, Kelsi Pederson was in action with the NLSA Lightning Sprints at Norman County Raceway for the series’ first and only appearance there. Kelsi got off to a great start as she started on the pole and picked up the heat race win.

Kelsi started fourth on the grid for the 15-lap feature, but dropped back early on. As the race advanced, she was able to make up most of the positions and came home with a solid fifth place finish.

With Street Stocks off for the night at River Cities Speedway and Greenbush Race Park raining out, Tucker Pederson had the weekend off.

This weekend, Joey will be in action with the Wissota Late Models at River Cities Speedway on Friday. Kelsi will also be racing at River Cities on Friday and Saturday with the NLSA Lightning Sprints. On Saturday, Tucker will head to Greenbush Race Park to run his No. 27 Wissota Street Stock.
