Podium finish with MSTS highlights Grosz’s roller coaster weekend.

HARWOOD, N.D. (June 27, 2018) – Lee Grosz picked up his fifth MSTS 360 top five of the season through the first seven races Saturday at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Neb. Saturday’s event was just one of four scheduled races of the weekend for the HI 10 Sports / Kyle Johnson Trucking team.
“Saturday was a really good night,” said Grosz. “I redrew the eight after the heat races, but got up to fourth or fifth right away. With about 10 laps to go, I was in third and caught Jody [Rosenboom] and [Jack] Dover in lapped traffic. I got inside Dover one time, but got into an infield yuke tire, which kind of bent some stuff up and made the car ill-handling the rest of the race.

“The track rubbered up, but if it wouldn’t have I think I would have had a fair shot at it. But any time you can run top three with that group of guys you know it’s a good run.”

Grosz’s weekend kicked off at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints. Grosz has one career win at Norman County with NOSA, which came back in 2014. Grosz looked awfully strong to start the night as he held off the series’ all-time wins leader, Mark Dobmeier, to claim the heat race win.

“I think Dobmeier started third and I knew he’d be right on me the whole race. I tried to drive as hard as I could to stay in front of him. We ended up holding him off, which felt pretty good,” said Grosz.

Unfortunately, the heat race would be the highlight of the night for Grosz.

“I was running third in the feature and four laps in we blew another oil line,” he explained. “That cut our night short, but I think we had a good chance at a top five or maybe even a top three.”

Friday’s event at Jackson Motorplex was canceled due to rain.

On Sunday, Grosz returned to action with the NOSA Sprints at Casino Speedway in Watertown, S.D. Unfortunately, Grosz’s heat race and night came to an end on lap two when he wheelied off of turn two, which resulted in the car getting upside down. Thankfully, Lee walked away uninjured.

Both Lee and Leroy have been working hard all week to get their second Moyle powered J&J ready to go for Friday’s MSTS/Neb. 360 event at Jackson Motorplex.

Entering the weekend, Grosz holds a 29 point lead over Dover atop the MSTS point standings.
Lee and the entire team would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support!
