Seng Holds Slim River Cities Points Lead Heading into Friday

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 5, 2018) – Brad Seng was back in the saddle on Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks for weekly Wissota Late Model racing. Friday was the lone race of the weekend as Saturday’s races at Devils Lake Speedway were canceled due to rain.

Seng raced to a third place finish in his heat to earn the sixth starting spot for the 20-lap feature. At the drop of the green flag, however, Seng went backwards in the running order. By lap three, the three-time and defending NLRA Late Model champion was running ninth.

Seng quickly found his groove and reclaimed the seventh position by lap five. From there, Seng battled with last week’s winner, Joey Pederson, and sophomore Late Model driver, Brody Troftgruben. Seng got by Troftgruben at the halfway point as he followed Pederson into sixth.

In the closing laps, Seng was able to pick off one more driver to move into the top five. With four laps to go, Seng found a way around front row starter, Tom Corcoran, to move into fifth.

The top five finish was his third of the season.

Next up, Seng will be back at the Grand Forks bullring in his S&S Transport / MB Customs No. 12S. Seng will bring in a slim two point lead over Mike Balcaen and Ryan Corbett atop the River Cities Speedway Late Model point standings.
