HARWOOD, N.D. (July 27, 2018) – Lee Grosz and the Fischer Auto Body No. 4J team had a big weekend of racing lined up last weekend with events at Jackson Motorplex and Knoxville Raceway.

The weekend started off with a strong run Friday night at Jackson with a third-place finish in the $5,000-to-win Midwest Power Series feature. After running second in the heat and fourth in the dash, Grosz lined up outside of row two for the 25-lap feature.

Grosz ran right behind leader Dominic Scelzi and Thomas Kennedy for the majority of the race. In the closing stages, an opportunity presented itself to Grosz and he jumped at it.

“Dominic and Thomas got to battling pretty hard,” said Grosz. “I saw that Dominic went to the top of three and Thomas went in the middle so i thought ‘here is my chance.’ I went right underneath Thomas and ended up clearing both of them. Right as I started to slide up, I hear over the radio ‘yellow, yellow, yellow.’ I thought if I could have pulled that off and it would have stayed green, I think I would have had a good shot at bringing home a win. There were only about four or five laps left after that yellow.”

Things got strung out on the final restart and Grosz finished in the third spot.

On Saturday, the team returned to Knoxville Raceway for their final tune up before the 360 Knoxville Nationals.

“We tried a few things with the setup for the feature,” continued Grosz. “I started 11th and got to sixth right away. Jon Agan and I were going at it and I think if I could have cleared him, I feel like had a good shot at a top five. We were pretty good. The track was fast around the top and there wasn’t much of a bottom groove. We fell back to ninth, but we learned a few things and know what we need to do to be just a little bit better. Hopefully we can find that little bit of speed and carry it into the 360 Nationals.”

Grosz will be taking this weekend off to prepare their brand-new J&J for the 360 Nationals.

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support!
