Dobmeier Collects Sixth Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Win at River Cities

By Mike Spieker

GRAND FORKS,N.D. (July 20, 2018) – Mark Dobmeier returned to his winning ways with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints. Dobmeier took the lead from Wade Nygaard on lap four of the 25-lap feature and never looked back for his sixth win of the year at the Bullring.

“The first 10 laps of that race was absolutely amazing. You could run the bottom, the top, you could slide across the middle. It was a good, typical bullring racing surface,” said Dobmeier after the race. “We got side by side with Wade [Nygaard]. He decided he wanted my lane so I had to find a different lane and go around him.”

With seven laps to go, Nygaard looped his No. 9N machine in lapped traffic and collected third place runner Jade Hastings. Hastings made heavy head-on contact with Nygaard. Both drivers were okay, but their night was over.

On the restart, Nick Omdahl challenged Dobmeier.

“Omdahl had a lot of speed on the restart. I was worried that he was going to give me a slide job into that first corner,” said Dobmeier. “Luckily we had enough momentum on the top off the corner to hold him off and get the win.”

Omdahl, Jordan Adams, Bob Martin and Shane Roemeling rounded out the top five. Dobmeier and Omdahl were the only two drivers on the lead lap at the checkers.

On the opening lap, Chris Ranten and Austin Pierce were involved in an incident that resulted in Pierce getting upside down. Both drivers received extensive damage to their machines, but both were uninjured.
