Midseason Review – Joey Pederson Racing

By Spieker Promotions

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 13, 2018) – It was another solid weekend of racing for the entire Joey Pederson Racing team last weekend. Joey picked up a top five with the NLRA Late Models Friday at River Cities Speedway. Tucker and Kelsi were both in action Saturday at Greenbush Race Park. Tucker picked up a top five in his Wissota Late Model and Kelsi raced to a podium finish with the NLSA Lightning Sprints.

With the first half of the 2018 season in the books, it has been a solid start to the year for Joey Pederson. The team was faced with adversity from the onset of the season after having an engine expire on opening night at River Cities Speedway. Two weeks later, Pederson returned to action at the Bullring and raced his way to the feature win.

Since then, Pederson has picked up four top fives and six top 10s in the last six events.

“Honestly, I was hoping for better results at this point in the season. I think it’s more just the stars not lining up for us the way I would hope. A lot of nights we were just as fast as the leaders, but could have used a caution to regroup. I’ve had to start so far back most nights… that’s played into it a few nights too. I was hoping to have a win or two more at this point, but the car is good. We’ve had the speed and I think we’ll get another win or two more this year,” said Pederson.

Joey will be taking this weekend off. Kelsi and Tucker will be racing tonight at Tri-County Speedway in Wishek, N.D. tonight. Kelsi will also be racing Saturday at Jamestown Speedway with the NLSA Lightning Sprints.

Last night Kelsi finished fourth at Tri-County, while Tucker finished fifth.
