Schill Grabs Happy Harry’s Midwest Mod Win

By Mike Spieker

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 20, 2018) – The top two cars in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified national points, Austin Hunter and Lance Schill, were in attendance on Friday. Cole Haugland led the field of 24 Happy Harry’s Midwest Mods to the green flag on the opening lap. Haugland quickly had his hands full with Schill and Matt Schow and fell back to third on lap five.

Haugland’s race took a turn for the worse on lap seven when he slid off the track and retired from the event.

Schow remained within striking distance of Schill, but couldn’t get close enough to pose a serious threat on the Langdon, N.D. driver. Schill cruised to his 12th win of the season as Schow, 12th place starter Preston Carr, Jeff Nelson and Nate Reynolds rounded out the top five.
