Strand Gears Up For Second Half of 2018 Season!

By Spieker Promotions

PORTLAND, N.D. (July 3, 2018) – As the calendar shifts from June to July, the unofficial first half of the 2018 racing season is in the books. For Jason Strand and the E85 Racing team, it has been a solid start to the season in both the Wissota Midwest Modified and their IMCA Modified. However, they are still chasing the elusive first win of the season.

While Strand hasn’t been able to get as many laps as he’d like at this point in the season, he has still racked up two runner-up finishes. Strand is hoping that the second half of the season will bring more opportunities to get out on the track, leading to more consistent runs each night out.

Last Thursday at Norman County Raceway, Strand came home with an eighth place finish in his North Dakota Corn Council / American Ethanol IMCA Modified.

“The car was okay on Thursday. We started on the pole for the feature and the inside was not the groove to be in,” said Strand. “I thought maybe the bottom would come around or the top would go away, but neither did. I tried finding something down there, I didn’t want to just get in line and ride around.”

Strand was scheduled to head to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on Friday, but heavy rains Thursday night into Friday morning forced the cancellation of the event.

This week both Norman County Raceway and Red River Valley Speedway are off. Strand will tentatively be heading to Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown tomorrow, July 4th, and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday, July 6th with his IMCA Modified.

Two weeks ago, Strand was going to make his first appearance at River Cities Speedway in a couple of years with the Wissota Modifieds, but rain washed out the evening.  Strand’s most recent visit to the Bullring came two years ago on July 3rd, 2015.

Jason and the entire E85 Racing team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support!
