It’s almost time to Go Hard Or Go Home…

The 12th running of the John Seitz Memorial Late Model Invitational at the tight quarter mile River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota is set and ready to be run on September 6th, 7th and 8th, 2018.

The event, already entering its twelfth season, will kick off again this year with the crowning of the NLRA Late Model Series Champion on Thursday, an event that began in 2011. For the eighth year in a row on Thursday, September 6th, the event will kick off with racing program dubbed the ‘Prelude to the Johnny’. Late Models will compete in a $1,292 to win program which will begin and 7pm along with the first of three consecutive nights for the WISSOTA Late Models, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and WISSOTA Street Stocks. This event will serve as the 2018 NLRA Championships and will be the final point night for the ’18 NLRA season, which will allow the tour champion to be crowned at River Cities just like the last seven seasons. Current NLRA point leader Dustin Strand will be one of the favorites heading into the season finale.

Night number two of the memorial weekend will then begin again on Friday, September 7th with action for the WISSOTA Late Models, NOSA Sprint Cars, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks and WISSOTA Modifieds. Friday’s program will feature heat races and the $920 to win Go Hard or Go Home pole dash for the Late Models, plus a complete program (heat races, semi-features and features) for the Sprint Cars, including the $8,200 Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Back Row Challenge, plus heat races for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks, a slight format change than in years past.

Saturday, September 8th’s program will feature b-features, a last chance race and the 92-lap $9,200 to win feature event for the Late Models plus another complete program for the Modifieds along with the b-mains and features for the Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks.

More than 50 of the Midwest’s best Late Model competitors from upwards of 5 states and several Canadian provinces, including several previous champions are all expected to be in attendance to compete for this giant purse and the prestige of winning the John Seitz Memorial! In addition, a host of local competitors should be in attendance and will be looking to ‘defend their home turf’ from the travelers to try to keep the $9,200 in the Grand Forks area once the memorial weekend’s event is completed.

Modified will race for $700 to win on Friday night and $920 to win on Saturday night, while Street Stocks and Midwest Modifieds will race for $500 to win on Thursday night and then each division will run for an increased $1,292 to win purses during their Friday/Saturday program.

Thursday and Friday’s action will start at 7pm with Saturday’s show beginning at 6pm. This event has been ultra-successful over the first eleven seasons and fans will want to make sure to be in Grand Forks for the eleventh running of the event on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 6th, 7th & 8th.

Tons of contingency awards will be provided in all divisions throughout the course of the weekend by some great sponsors. For ticket prices and more information please log onto www.rivercitiesspeedway.com or www.fyemotorsports.com for more event information or call Chris at (715) 497-8916.
