Alex Truscinski Sweeps NLSA Weekend at Red River Valley & Greenbush

(August 28, 2018) – Alex Truscinski of Greenbush, Minn. swept feature action with the Northern Lighting Sprint Association over the weekend. The series made its first-ever visit to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. on Friday night.

A strong field of 14 cars were checked in at the semi-banked three-eighths mile clay oval. Truscinski and Zak Kwiatkoski made up the front row for the 15-lap main event. Kwiatkoski led the opening lap by a nose over Truscinski, but Truscinski came back around to lead lap two. The caution was displayed on lap five for a spin in turn two. Truscinski got a great jump on the restart and checked out from the field.

Truscinski cruised to the win over Kwiatkoski, Josh Abrahamson, Kelsi Pederson and Dexter Dvergsten.

On Saturday, the series made its way back to its home track, Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn. Thirteen cars made up the field for the night’s feature. Despite a brief weather delay halfway through the race, Alex Truscinski dominated to claim his sixth win of the season. Fellow Greenbush driver, Dexter Dvergsten, challenged Truscinski in the closing stages, but it wasn’t enough.

Truscinski took the win over Dvergsten, Alan Truscinski, Kelsi Pederson and Jason Berg.

Pederson currently sits atop the NLSA point standings with a mere six-point lead over Alan Truscinski. Alex sits third, just 12 points behind Pederson.

Three events remain in the 2018 season. Up next will be a pair of events at Greenbush Race Park this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 1st and Sunday, Sept. 2nd. The season will wrap up at Greenbush on Friday, Sept. 14th at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
