Brock Gronwold gets first Happy Harry’s Midwest Mod win since 2009

GRAND FORKS, ND (August 3, 2018) – Three of the top five WISSOTA Midwest Modified national point chasers were on hand at the Bullring, including Lance Schill, Austin Hunter and Brock Gronwold. Gronwold led the 21 car field over Todd Johnson on the opening lap after pole sitter, Jory Berg, was tagged for jumping the initial start. ​

Several cautions plagued the mid-portion of the event.

In the closing laps, Gronwold was harassed by Matt Schow and Schill. Schill and Schow fought for the second spot, which allowed Gronwold to open up his lead by a couple car lengths. Schill reeled in Gronwold in the final laps, but came up short as Gronwold picked up his first win at River Cities Speedway since 2009.
