Kennedy set for 360 Nationals following top 10 run at Knoxville

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (August 1, 2018) – When the biggest races of the year roll around, you want to be at the top of your game, firing on all eight cylinders. For Thomas Kennedy and the Buffalo Wild Wings / Kennedy Floorings team, they seem to be doing just that.

Kennedy had another strong run at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night. The event was the team’s final tune-up before the 28th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals. After timing in 14th quick out of the 44 entries, Kennedy drove from fourth to second in his heat, which put him 10th on the grid for the 18-lap feature.

Kennedy moved his way forward throughout the race, making it up to the sixth position. During the feature, a hose broke on the No. 21K, leaving him with no brake fluid. Still, Kennedy hung on to finish in sixth.

Entering his fourth attempt at the 360 Knoxville Nationals, Kennedy has recorded five wins, 17 top fives and 20 top 10s in 28 events thus far in 2018.

Kennedy’s best run at the 360 Nationals came last year when he wheeled the BDS Motorsports machine to a 14th place finish in Saturday night’s A-main. During his preliminary night last year, Kennedy finished fourth in the A-main.

Kennedy will qualify for this year’s 360 Nationals on Thursday, August 2. Thecushion.com will have live pay-per-view video all weekend.

Kennedy will also be in action Sunday at Knoxville Raceway for the Capitani Classic, before heading to Southern Iowa Speedway for two nights of racing in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
