GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 26, 2018) – Brendan Mullen and the Auto Finance Super Center team were back racing after taking the previous weekend off while the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series was in town. Mullen had a strong run in his heat race and would highlight his weekend with a top 10 in the feature at River Cities Speedway.
Mullen unloaded Friday at River Cities Speedway as weekly racing continued for the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA). Starting sixth on the grid for his heat race, Brendan moved up three positions to finish third, which lined him up ninth for the feature. On the start, Brendan fell back two spots, but quickly rebounded and started working his way forward to seventh by lap five.
Unfortunately, Brendan spun in turn four and came to a stop on the track, which relegated him back to 15th. The 15-year-old NOSA rookie worked his way back into the top 10 by lap 21 and battled with the No. 20A of Jordan Adams. The two swapped positions until the end of the race where Brendan came home with an eighth-place finish.
The team loaded up and headed west to compete at Devils Lake Speedway the following night. Again, the young gun started sixth on the grid and raced to a second place finish. The strong run placed him seventh on the starting grid for the feature.
At the drop of the green flag, Mullen battled with Ty Hanten and Adams for the sixth position. By lap seven, he settled into that sixth position until he slid off the track and brought the caution. Restarting in the ninth position, Mullen raced hard to regain position and found himself in the seventh position. Mullen, unfortunately, slid off the track once again on lap 19 bringing out another caution and ending his night, ultimately placing him in the 14th spot.
The 11M crew will be back in action this Friday night at River Cities Speedway to tune-up for the 12th running of the John Seitz Memorial on September 7th.
Brendan and the entire Mullen Motorsports team would like to thank all their sponsors for their support!
