Pederson Collects Sixth Consecutive Top Five at River Cities

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (August 15, 2018) – Joey Pederson has been one of the most consistent drivers at River Cities Speedway the past two months and that trend continued last Friday night. Pederson picked up his sixth consecutive top five finish at the high-banked three-tenths mile clay oval.
A second place finish in his heat put Pederson outside of row four for the 20-lap WISSOTA Late Model feature. The East Grand Forks, Minn. driver cracked the top five on lap six, but he wasn’t done yet.

Pederson moved by Troy Schill and Jeff Hapala in consecutive laps to take over third with seven laps remaining. From there, Pederson set his sights on Ryan Corbett for second, but ran out of time as he took the checkers in third.

The podium finish was Pederson’s fifth of the season.

Tucker Pederson started his WISSOTA Street Stock feature in the 12th position Friday at River Cities Speedway. The sophomore Street Stock driver was working on the eighth position when his oil pressure went to zero, forcing him to pull in. Luckily the issue was just a faulty gauge and not the engine, but it resulted in a 19th place finish.

Tucker rebounded nicely the following night at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minn. with a sixth-place finish in the feature. Entering the final month of racing, Tucker currently sits sixth in the River Cities Speedway point standings and seventh in the Greenbush standings, despite missing two events.

Kelsi Pederson had a busy weekend behind the wheel of her No. 93 NLSA Lightning Sprint. Kelsi competed in four feature events in three nights at three different tracks. Following a fifth place finish at River Cities on Friday, Kelsi finished second at Greenbush on Saturday.

At Buffalo River Race Park on Sunday, a make-up feature from the July 8th program was on the card along with the regularly scheduled show. In the regularly scheduled show, Kelsi won her heat and picked up another second place finish. She ended the night by running fourth in the make-up feature.

This weekend, Joey will return to River Cities Speedway to compete with the NLRA Late Models. Both Tucker and Kelsi will run Saturday at Greenbush. Kelsi will wrap up the weekend Sunday at Buffalo River with the NLSA Lightning Sprints.
