By Mike Spieker

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 15, 2018) – It may have taken until the second week in August, but Brad Seng has finally collected that elusive first win of 2018 at his home track, River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

Seng took the lead of the WISSOTA Late Model feature on lap eight and never looked back en route to the win. Jeff Hapala led the first seven laps of the feature until Seng, who started sixth, took the point. Seng took the win by 1.2 seconds over Ryan Corbett, while Joey Pederson, Dustin Strand and Hapala rounded out the top five.

Seng’s first win of the season came on July 21 at Devils Lake Speedway.

Since Seng suffered a DNF on July 14 at Devils Lake, he has rattled off eight consecutive top five finishes. Seven of those finishes have been inside the top three.

This weekend will be a pivotal one for Seng in regards to the NLRA standings. Entering the weekend, the Grand Forks driver currently sits second in the standings, 98 points behind Dustin Strand.

The four-race, four-night NLRA swing will kick off Thursday at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba. On Friday and Saturday the series will co-headline events with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks and Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo.

On Sunday, Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon will host the NLRA for the second season in a row.
