Dobmeier Closes 2018 NOSA Season with Two Podium Finishes at River Cities!
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 19, 2018) – The 2018 River Cities Speedway season came to a close on Friday night. The event was highlighted by double NOSA features, which included the regularly scheduled program and the August 31st make-up feature.
The night began with the 25-lap make-up feature, where Mark Dobmeier lined up inside of row five.
“In the first feature on Friday, we just plain ol’ missed the boat on the setup,” admitted Dobmeier. “We were a little too free and I would try to drive it harder, which made it push. We just missed it a little bit, but we were able to advance forward and picked off a third-place finish. We were about a third-place car anyways, unless we could have gotten into some lapped traffic. We’ve been hitting the setup pretty good all year so I guess I can’t complain too much.”
Dobmeier dominated the 10-lap heat race of the regularly scheduled program, picking up the win by over nine seconds. Being the first heat race winner, Dobmeier drew the inversion pill during intermission and drew the dreaded 10 pill.
That put the driver of the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 on the outside of the fifth row for the feature.
“I worked my way through the field and got up to second place fairly quickly, but the problem was we were racing in wide open track and would just get to lapped traffic and the yellow would come out. I could stay with the leader [Jade Hastings] and could run him down on the long runs, but I just couldn’t get by him when it came time to make a move. Hats off to Jade, he ran a great race and did everything he needed to do.”
Dobmeier came home with a runner-up finish to complete the night.
Team 13 Racing ended the year at River Cities with eight wins, 11 top fives and 12 top tens in 13 events entered.
Mark and the entire Team 13 Racing crew would like to thank all their sponsors for their support!
