Mark Martin’s Race For Hope 74 kicks off Tuesday at Batesville Motor Speedway

BATESVILLE, Ark. (September 24, 2018) – The second annual Race For Hope 74 presented by Sweet Manufacturing is set for September 25-29th at Batesville Motor Speedway. The event boasts a total purse of over $250,000 for the best IMCA Modifieds in the country.

The inaugural running of the event last year had an impressive field of 107 drivers chasing the $20,000 top prize. Pre-entries for this year’s event have already eclipsed 2017’s total entries.

A practice session from 6:30-8:00pm on Tuesday will be held for all the drivers, followed by time trials that will set up positions for the States and Manufacturers Race on Saturday. Grandstand admission is free on Tuesday.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be qualifying nights, featuring a complete show of heat races, consolation features, and an A-main event. Admission is $20.

The $20,000-to-win, 74-lap championship feature will run on Saturday night with a three-wide start for the 27-car field. A State’s Race for the fastest car from each state that did not make the feature will pay $1,000 to the winner. A Manufacturer’s Race for the fastest chassis manufacturers not qualified for the championship feature will also be run with $1,000 up for grabs. Admission for Saturday’s program is $25.

A percentage of the ticket sales from all four nights will be donated to Mark and Arlene Martin’s Hope For Arkansas foundation. The foundation helps improve the quality of life for children and families across the state of Arkansas with a strong emphasis on Batesville and Independence County. The goal of the foundation’s efforts is to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families by providing shelter, access to the public transportation, education and career, and soft skills training.
