Mullen Earns Third Career Podium Finish with NOSA Sprints in Minot

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 5, 2018) – NOSA Sprint Car rookie, Brendan Mullen, has been turning heads all year long behind the wheel of his No. 11M Sprint Car. That continued over the Labor Day weekend as he competed with the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) and Canadian-American Outlaw Sprint Car Series at Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, N.D. and Nodak Speedway in Minot.

Mullen started on the outside of the front row for the 25-lap feature at Devils Lake on Saturday night. The 15-year-old Grand Forks driver was running in the third position on lap seven when he got over the banking in turn three and barrel rolled. Mullen landed on his wheels and kept his foot on the throttle and drove away from the incident. Still, the red flag was displayed.

It appeared as though it was just top wing damage, but Mullen wasn’t able to rejoin the field in time for the restart. He was credited with a 17th place finish.

Sunday night went much better. After finishing second in his heat, Mullen drove a smooth and steady feature to come away with a third place finish in his first-ever visit to Nodak Speedway.

The podium effort was the third of the season and first outside of Devils Lake Speedway.

Mullen will be back in action this Friday at his home track, River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, for the fourth annual Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Challenge.

Mullen finished fifth in his heat on Friday, Aug. 31st at River Cities, but rain forced the postponement of the feature. It will be made up on Friday, Sept. 14th.

Brendan and the entire Mullen Motorsports team would like to thank all their sponsors for their support!
