East Grand Forks’ Kelsi Pederson will enter the final race of the season with a slim lead over the father-son duo of Alan and Alex Truscinski of Greenbush. Alan currently sits nine points behind Pederson, while Alex is still within striking distance at 16 points back.

In the series’ three prior visits to River Cities Speedway this season, Pederson and Alan Truscinski each have a win apiece. Dexter Dvergsten is the most recent winner at the speedway.

Pederson extended her points lead by three markers over the weekend at Greenbush Race Park. Greenbush wrapped up its 2018 season with a Labor Day weekend doubleheader. Pederson finished third on Saturday and second on Sunday, which bested Alan Truscinski’s second place effort on Saturday and sixth place finish on Sunday.

Dvergsten led all 15 trips around the high-banked three-tenths mile dirt oval on Saturday night to pick up his sixth win of the season. Alan Truscinski, Pederson, Zak Kwiatkoski and Mark Williams rounded out the top five.

On Sunday, Alex Truscinski continued his Greenbush dominance by claiming his sixth win of the season at the speedway and seventh win overall. Truscinski moved by Kyle Cole and Kwiatkoski on lap three to take the point. Once out front, Truscinski never relinquished the lead. Pederson moved into the second spot with six laps to go, but Truscinski went on to take the checkers by over 2.5 seconds.
