GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 12, 2018) – This Friday night the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints 25th anniversary season comes to a close with double features at River Cities Speedway. Along with the regularly scheduled program, the series will be making up the main event from August 31st that was postponed due to rain.
Coming into the night, Nygaard unofficially holds a 181 point lead in the NOSA point standings as he looks to secure his 10th career series title. In the River Cities Speedway track standings, Nygaard currently sits in second, just one point behind defending champion, Austin Pierce.
“I would really like to come out of Friday with at least one win,” said Nygaard. “As a team at the beginning of the season, we set a goal of wanting 10 wins and we are getting close.”
Last Friday night, Buffalo Wild Wings presented the NOSA Blazin’ Challenge at River Cities Speedway. Nygaard took the challenge and started in row nine of 10 with the chance at some bonus money if he would win from the back.
Leading up to the event, Grand Forks received a ton of rain Thursday night into Friday afternoon, which made for a fast, tacky and somewhat choppy racing surface. Still, Nygaard charged his way up to sixth place.
“We didn’t really have a sixth-place car. It was probably worse than that,” said Nygaard. “I didn’t get the car freed up enough. I was way too locked down and couldn’t get going. I just had to hang on and try not to tip it over so we could load it up in one piece.”
On Saturday, the Auto Finance Super Center team loaded up and headed to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. to run double duty with the 360 and 410.
“It was a hammer down track pretty much all night, but it had two good lanes. It was kind of hard to pass, though, with how fast everybody was going,” said Nygaard.
Nygaard finished 14th with the IRA Sprints in the 410 and seventh with the UMSS Sprints with the 360.
Wade and the entire crew would like to thank their great sponsors for their continued support!
